Holistic Support for Native Communities in Minnesota
Minnesota is home to a diverse population of Native American tribes, with 11 federally recognized tribes and a rich cultural heritage. Many tribal lands are located in rural areas with limited infrastructure, posing challenges in accessing healthcare, education, and employment opportunities. Additionally, the intergenerational trauma and systemic barriers that Native populations face necessitate a multifaceted approach to community support that is culturally relevant and tailored to their specific needs.
This funding initiative aims to provide crucial organizational capacity support for entities serving Native communities in Minnesota by prioritizing holistic programs that address health, education, and economic development. Organizations applying for these grants must demonstrate a clear understanding of the unique challenges and aspirations of the communities they serve.
